Transmitter calculation

1.Converting Linerar % to square root %

Square root % = sqrt(linear %)(10)

Example: Convert 50 % linear to square root

Square root mA           =          √A*10

                                   =          √50*10

                                   =          70.71%

2.Converting Linear mA to square root mA

                Square root mA                 =    √((A-4)/16 )x16)+4

                Where A is Linear mA

Example : Convert 12 mA linear to square root mA

                Square root mA                        =          √((A-4)/16 )x16)+4

                                                                =           √((12-4)/16 )x16)+4

                                                                 =           15.31mA

  1. What if you were looking for an FI indication on a 0√-10√ span? Would it be the sqrt of the d/p % across the FE, or the sqrt of the FT/FY outputs?
